Samuel H. Lee, MD joined our practice in June 2016. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine graduating as part of Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society and completed his internship at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. In 2009, Dr. Lee came to Sacramento for his ophthalmology residency at UC Davis Eye Center, and then moved to Chicago to complete a Cornea and Refractive Surgery fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Dr. Lee chose to specialize in Cornea and Refractive Surgery because he enjoys challenging cases, and is able to handle complex anterior segment surgery. He is well versed in the latest corneal transplant techniques including DALK, DMEK, and DSEK, and has a special interest in challenging lens and IOL-related complications as well as managing the ocular surface disease and dry eye.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society.
Dr. Lee enjoys living in Sacramento with his wife and dog. In addition to English, he speaks Korean and Spanish. He has a strong interest in automobiles and has run his car on many race tracks in California. He also enjoys NBA basketball and served as the team ophthalmologist for the Sacramento Kings from 2014-2016.
