Cindy Nguyen Koo, OD

Dr. Cindy Nguyen Koo completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Riverside with a degree in Biology and Applied Statistics. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of California, Berkeley, where she received extensive clinical training in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease, pre- and post-op refractive/cataract surgery care, and specialty contact lenses including myopia management. Dr. Koo completed externships at the renowned Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, as well as at the Veterans Affairs facilities in White City, Oregon and in San Jose, CA.

Dr. Koo’s journey to optometry is built on a strong foundation of varied healthcare experiences, having delivered care across diverse settings including community health centers and private practice. She takes an empathetic, collaborative approach, ensuring that patients feel supported throughout each step of their visual health care journey.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Koo enjoys traveling with her husband, furthering her creative pursuits in piano and in ceramics, and discovering new running trails to explore! She is originally from the Bay Area.
